Hiatus

Hello fellow GMs. It seems a bit fortuitous that the last episode of the GMF podcast was on burn out. As I myself have been experiencing this affect for well over a year now with the Website and the Forums. It seems like for the past 2 years I have been trying to carry the sole burden of keeping a sinking ship above the water and now I feel that I'm up to my chin in the sea standing atop the bow of said ship. I had hoped that the Podcast would help to breath life anew into the Forums and the website, yet that does not appear to have happened. I'm burned out creatively, mentally, emotionally, and physically. I sat down to record this weeks episode of the Podcast and I just couldn't do it. My mind went blank and began feeling the sense of dread. I'm proud to have outlasted 90% of all podcasts, which never make it past 5 episodes. But I feel that I need to recharge my batteries for a bit. I haven't had a gaming group in some time, and I'm feeling more and more out of touch with gaming community as time goes by. If anyone would like to record or write main topics for the podcast I would be willing to continue producing the show. I'm just not able to put the creative effort into it now that I once was. If not then we had a good run, and hopefully some day (not too far off into the future) we can see the return of the GMF Podcast. I will continue to check the GMF email on a weekly basis, although we don't receive much there.

Along with the Podcast the Blog will also be inactive, unless some is willing to take over as primary author, to continue writing articles for the Blog. I can give you Author access easily once you sign up at [url="http://wordpress.com"]Wordpress[/url] for an account. I will still be lurking around the boards as I do now, and I hope to be able to increase my postings after a couple of weeks. (I know I haven't been terribly active here as of yet, but I do check the boards daily.)

You may not hear anything from me for the next week or so, but I will still be around. If only as a pair of eyeballs on the page.

Alright ... so since the post is public and there are only a bunch of us over here.

This is the thing. As you know from our prior conversations I'd love to give you a hand. I think I could crank out topics on a regular schedule and the production (specially if I can count on you helping me) shouldn't be that much of a problem. So count me in for that matter.

We do need to figure out exactly what are we going to do. And since this is your baby (sort of speak), I'd like to know just exactly what do you want to do with it. Specially since I'd love to prepare a podcast and be in touch with fellow roleplayers. I think that it would personally be a nice thing for me and help me really get back in touch with the hobby ... but for that matter, if the idea is to do it here (which means it's a joint effort). We should know what we're going for.

And as I said prior to this ... I'm posting this as opposed to sending you a PM since, there's only a handful of us, and as a community ... and (I have already been corrected on this but ...) while I am the newest *posting* member ... you guys should see what is it that you want to do.

So yeah, I'm being rambly again. But the point is that I can give you a hand and I'd be willing to do it, if there's people to go along with it.

I'll go along with it. I like to think I'm a good writer, but I couldn't do the production (no sound-recording equipment, hearing a fourteen-year-old on a podcast might seem weird) for various reasons.

I also probably couldn't write consistently, I can't just write on command. I have to have an idea. Some sort of inspiration other than, "Gotta do this by Friday!"
